Cultural content on the Internet increases every day. Over the last few years many institutions have been digitizing their collections and opening them up through online access. Now we have a challenge: what can we do with all these digitized items?
Aggregating data from cultural institutions across Europe and applying the principles of Linked Data, increases the potential to enrich knowledge on cultural heritage, to generate new applications and to improve the user experience which in turn opens the door to future opportunities.
The workshop will discuss metadata, standards, content aggregation processes, semantic web and other aspects that allow us to think of a new stage in information management in archives, libraries and museums. These processes will also be the first step for projects and applications to improve the user experience.
The speakers, professionals from across Europe, will provide an overview of the State of the Art and new approaches.
Event organized in the framework of the European project Linked Heritage.
